Use
your hair for a good cause! Greenpeace Philippines, in association with
a number of local salons and barber shops, is collecting hair to help
clean up the Guimaras oil spill.

A gallon of oil will adhere to
a little more than a pound of hair in just two minutes. The best part
is, the hair can be wrung out and reused.

Here's a CNN story on
Phil McCrory, an ingenuous US hairdresser who came up with the
solution. TV Patrol ran a similar feature on local efforts that use
collected human hair to respond to the recent marine catastrophe.

Here's how you can pitch in:
1) GET YOUR HAIR CUT! All branches of Reyes Haircutters and Azta Urban Salon
(there's one on Katipunan and on Metrowalk) are collection centers for
the Greenpeace hair drive, so it might be more convenient if you get
your hair done at those places.

2) Go to your neighborhood barber or hairdresser and inform them of the campaign. They can bring their hair leftovers to any Reyes Haircutters or Azta branches. OR you can take the initiative and bring them there yourself.

Here's the contact info:
Reyes Haircutters main branch (Anonas) - 913 6250 (look for Alex)
Azta Urban Salon Katipunan - 928 4208 (open from 10am-10pm Mondays to Sundays.)

Elyse Sewell's Journal

http://elysesewell.livejournal.com/
remember elyse? she the 2nd runner-up in the first season of America's Next Top Model. lots of pictures and long "sensible" entries about her adventures/misadventures as a model.

news, school and....

news that might make you want to say "What the hell?!?"

What i like about Lyceum is its location. You see, i love B&W pictures especially the really old ones. i want to live in an old house or at least stay there for a few days. Intramuros is almost heaven to me. i enjoy walking on those cobble-stoned streets wonder how people used to live their life. i think this is one of a few reasons that convinces to go to school in the morning.

But i hate my classmates in english! i love my professor. she's really fun and great and open minded and really good. pero lecheng mga kaklase ko. maingay na nga, wala pang matinong masabi, mayayabang pa. heto pa, ang groupmates ko, leche din. parang hindi sila uusad kung wala ako. may halitosis pa ang isa! yack, tapos lagi pa siyang tumatabi sa akin, kasi feeling niya close kami. oh please help me!

I want to ride a Moto jeep

Yung jeep na may body sticker ng Motorola, yun yung tinatawag kong Moto jeep. there are several Moto jeeps on the pasay-ayala route. yet, i haven't been able to ride one.

I mean how do people who work in that kind of business deal with death of someone they know.

--------------------------------
there's a family that sleeps in front of a pawnshop at libertad at night. it consists of a mother, father and two children. when i first saw them, all that the youngest could do was roll on the cold floor. now, he/she can sit up.

someone stole his bread and santiness

here's the thing, i get obsessed in googling things especially when i can't find them. weird. let me quote our former maid "yung di makita laging hinahanap. yung nandyan ayaw"

having fun now that the show has opened. i shall cherish every moment of saying my line "someone stole his bread" and manipulating the lamp.hehehe. i love the adrenaline rush. woohooo. i'm addicted to it!!

i have no MTh 11:30am class until next week. my Spanish professor had a surgery to remove her cataract. hooray for me. i get to sleep more.

i need to get new headshots. and update my resume. and clean my bed. plus my table and cabinet.... someday. sometime.

how i love my chats with kuya santi. parang ang sarap gawing script sa play/tv.
Kris Obcena: i have a good feeling about this,,,pero kung mali ako at gago siya at gagaguhin ka niya ay makakatikim siya ng black eye mula sa bakla..

kuya santi is a good soul. full of wisdom yet always in style.

Kris Obcena: i know you won't...but I hope his timing is constantly perfect..Kilala kita, you're a patient girl and you wouldn't mind waiting it out for a guy whom you think is worth the wait..

Kris Obcena: There is so much i need to learn about your patience...
          -
i realized that patience has become my virtue. but still, i don't have patience for people who are two hours late and those who wants me to make a move first when its them who has to start the dice rolling.

You Are Best Described By...

Under the Wave Off Kanagawa

By Katsushika Hokusai

What Famous Work of Art Are You?

You Are a Dreaming Soul

Your vivid emotions and imagination takes you away from this world
So much so that you tend to live in your head most of the time
You have great dreams and ambitions that could be the envy of all...
But for you, following through with your dreams is a bit difficult

You are charming, endearing, and people tend to love you.
Forgiving and tolerant, you see the world through rose colored glasses.
Underneath it all, you have a ton of passion that you hide from others.
Always hopeful, you tend to expect positive outcomes in your life.

Souls you are most compatible with: Newborn Soul, Prophet Soul, and Traveler Soul

Book meme

from HM Cherie

BOOK MEME
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog along with these instructions.
5.
Don’t you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your
closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is
closest.
6. Tag three people:

"If that was you, Twoflower, I knew it was you all along," said Rincewind. his voice sounded suddenly clear and very alone in the gathering dusk.
Rincewind remembered the only fact he knew for sure about trolls, which was that they turned to stone when exposed to sunlight, so that anyone who employed trolls to work durig daylight had to spend a fortune in barrier cream.

from page 123 of Terry Pratchett's "The Light Fantastic"

i haven't read this book and i have no idea what it is all about, i just it got from carl's table which is nearest to the computer.

i tag you who's reading this right now. hehehe.

burping and farting

i'm having a bad case of kabag. i've been burping like there's no tomorrow since i sat in front of this computer. if 1 burp = 100,000 pesos, i would have been a millionaire. eh kaso hindi.

to my avid fans (kapal ng mukha), Aladdin Jr. of Repertory's Children Theater will open tomorrow at 10:30am, August 12.

yes! 10:30am! which means our calltime is usually at 8:00am. buti na lang i live 20mins away minus traffic. but i'm making a habit of being early. naks. sana nagagawa ko din yun sa school.

i saw our program after the show. and hey! my headshot looks GOOD!!! and i'd like to thank my dearest father for my write-up. hehehe.

back to burping, my brother and i are having burping duet right now. he burps, i burp. so fun. and this is how we were brought up.

i asked carl about my profile pic in my friendster account. according to him its bad because people would think that i'm ala lindsay lohan. since when do i care about what people think? since when do i care about what manong thinks? i love you manong!

i like the picture. i like how it was taken, the composition and all that artsy factors. hehehe. i'm artist (accent on the second sylLAble). ahahahaha.

EDIT: carl tripped due to stupidity. twice. first with the computer table, then with the electric fan. it was PRICELESS!!!!

a lazy sunday

last wednesday, after my divisoria shopping spree with mama, we went to my eye doctor who i've wanting to visit for a long time.
she said, my eyes were okay EXCEPT my eye muscles are weakening that causes my headaches and blurry vision when reading. the result: i have to wear eyeglasses when i read or use the computer.
thursday came. i didn't go to school since last monday, i asked all three professors to excuse me from classes with the reason that i am needed at work (which is true!) thanks to my charm and the fact that i attend classes regularly, they allowed me to be absent in class plus, take makeup quizzes.
back to the thursday story, mama and i went to quaipo to get me a pair of glasses. the attendant immediately gave the pink frame. hehehe. it is so adorable. so... i got a pair of glasses with pink frames. but you won't see walking around wearing it. because it is for reading.

my schedule is full of dress rehearsals for repertory for this week. once we open, i'm hoping and praying that my schedule will be free somehow.

    about my divisoria shopping spree
i bought a pair of jeans, skirt, a pair of flat shoes, a pair of high heels, a bolero, a bag, 6 shirts of different colors.
