Use
your hair for a good cause! Greenpeace Philippines, in association with
a number of local salons and barber shops, is collecting hair to help
clean up the Guimaras oil spill.

A gallon of oil will adhere to
a little more than a pound of hair in just two minutes. The best part
is, the hair can be wrung out and reused.

Here's a CNN story on
Phil McCrory, an ingenuous US hairdresser who came up with the
solution. TV Patrol ran a similar feature on local efforts that use
collected human hair to respond to the recent marine catastrophe.

Here's how you can pitch in:
1) GET YOUR HAIR CUT! All branches of Reyes Haircutters and Azta Urban Salon
(there's one on Katipunan and on Metrowalk) are collection centers for
the Greenpeace hair drive, so it might be more convenient if you get
your hair done at those places.

2) Go to your neighborhood barber or hairdresser and inform them of the campaign. They can bring their hair leftovers to any Reyes Haircutters or Azta branches. OR you can take the initiative and bring them there yourself.

Here's the contact info:
Reyes Haircutters main branch (Anonas) - 913 6250 (look for Alex)
Azta Urban Salon Katipunan - 928 4208 (open from 10am-10pm Mondays to Sundays.)

Elyse Sewell's Journal

http://elysesewell.livejournal.com/
remember elyse? she the 2nd runner-up in the first season of America's Next Top Model. lots of pictures and long "sensible" entries about her adventures/misadventures as a model.

news, school and....

news that might make you want to say "What the hell?!?"

What i like about Lyceum is its location. You see, i love B&W pictures especially the really old ones. i want to live in an old house or at least stay there for a few days. Intramuros is almost heaven to me. i enjoy walking on those cobble-stoned streets wonder how people used to live their life. i think this is one of a few reasons that convinces to go to school in the morning.

But i hate my classmates in english! i love my professor. she's really fun and great and open minded and really good. pero lecheng mga kaklase ko. maingay na nga, wala pang matinong masabi, mayayabang pa. heto pa, ang groupmates ko, leche din. parang hindi sila uusad kung wala ako. may halitosis pa ang isa! yack, tapos lagi pa siyang tumatabi sa akin, kasi feeling niya close kami. oh please help me!

people working in a multiplex. basahin mo!

Yung jeep na may body sticker ng Motorola, yun yung tinatawag kong Moto jeep. there are several Moto jeeps on the pasay-ayala route. yet, i haven't been able to ride one.

I mean how do people who work in that kind of business deal with death of someone they know. I'm assuming manhid na sila sa mga iyakan ng mga taong namatayan. pero paano kung sila yung namatayan?

--------------------------------
there's a family that sleeps in front of a pawnshop at libertad at night. it consists of a mother, father and two children. when i first saw them, all that the youngest could do was roll on the cold floor. now, he/she can sit up.

kanina, habang pauwi, si mother naupo, nagpapaypay. pagsilip ko sa kanilang "bakod" buntis siya. nakakalungkot na ganun na ang sitwasyon nila tapos madadagdagan pa ang mga kailangan nilang pakainin.
