I got tagged again

Hay naku Jod, dinamay mo pa ako. Hahaha. At pagbibigyan kita.

instructions :)

1. Each blogger starts with ten random facts/habits about themselves.

2. Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their ten things and post these rules.

3. At the end of your blog, you need to choose ten people to get tagged and list their names.

4. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.

-------------------------------------

1. Whenever I see a Volks Beetle, I feel the need to Pendong someone.

2. I like the word Chedeng! (slang for Mercedes Benz). I like saying "Nagmamaneho ako ng chedeng."

3. When I'm bored, I sing "I Am A Bendictine Child" in different voices.

4. Akala ko dati, selosa ako. Tapos nakilala ko si Jod. Nalaman ko kung ano talaga ang selosa. :-)

5. Lv and I enjoy searching the Spanish Dictionary for raunchy words and terms. Her xmas gift to me was a list of cusses in Spanish depending on the country. Ayos. Que pervitido.

6. I have declared this summer as "No Denim Pants Summer!" So far, all I have been wearing are skirts, dresses and shorts.

7. This is my version of "Evidence" by Urbandub:
Caught you in the arms of another and another and another and another and TEN others

8. I am currently using a Siemens celphone. That brand is now extinct. Kaya kapag itong selepono ko nasira, malaking good luck sa akin.

9. I won third place in the Search for Future Diplomats in our school. I now have the title of Charges d' Affaires. Haha. Magyayabang lang ng kaonti.

10. I believe I have manly feet. I avoid wearing pointed shoes because I feel that my feet would look like a man's feet in woman's shoes.

GO TAG YOURSELF! :-P

Lalaki na ako! a.k.a. The Happity Bertdity post

Yesterday was the 21st death anniversary of the farmers who were killed in Mendiola . 21 years ago, Budd Dwyer shot himself during a press conference. January 22nd 2008, Heath Ledger, a talented young actor dies of overdose.

Uh-huh! My birthday is filled with famous deaths. Some people might find it tragic. Mama would joke me that my birth caused the Mendiola hubaloo. I say that this is a sign that I am destined to...um, I'm not really sure... save the world by saving the cheerleader?

Okay, I have no idea. But I find it really amusing that there are many significant events that occured on January 22.

Now that I am 21, according to Philippine constitution, I could get married without the consent of my parents next year, which I have no plans of doing so in the near future. Eisa, the best secret lover ever, pointed out that I could now gamble legally in Las Vegas. If I go to the US, I could legally buy liquor.

Yep, I am 21. Bente uno. Tengo veinte uno años. Do I feel old? No. I am still having a hard time making people believe that I am of legal age and I can watch R-18 movies whenever I want. Sheesh.

This year, I want to take more risks. I want to be more spontaneous. I want to be more agressive with what I want in life. Yeah, that's what I'm going to do.

Salamat sa mga bumati sa akin. At sa mga hindi bumati sa akin. Hehehe. Alam kong naalala niyo na kaarawan ko. Nyak! ang kapal ng mukha. :-)

Salamat din kay Manong na kinalimutan niya na birthday ko for the 3rd year in a row. last year, akala niya sa 21 yung birthday ko. Two years ago, he thought my birthday was on the 23rd. My gulay Manong!!! We have been siblings for more than 20 years. You were Wolverine, I was storm. Bwahaha.

Best birthday gift so far was from Pol who gave me a Mario doll.

Re-enactment: Pol gives the Mario doll

Me: Wow! A Mario doll!!! I'm gonna name him...
Pol: (Gives me the weird face) What? Steve!? What else are you suppose to call a Mario  doll??
    Me: I don't know...

On our way home, I decided to call him Abu because he looks like a Shiek (sp?). Pol now calls him Steve the Mario doll who doesn't look Italian.

Everyone, meet Abu a.k.a. Steve the Mario doll
Ahahaha!

Does he look like a Mario to you?

Giggling Gigil

I watched the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2007. I only watched it because the commercial said one of their guests are the Spice Girls. And so I waited and waited and so some lovely underwear that I would want for myself but I would never own.

Then finally the Spice Girls were on! They sang "Stop". I was screaming with excitement. I turned up the volume and watched them with an enormous smile. Hay.

Oh! oh! oh! He likes my giggle. Hahahahaha. <----- not a giggle.

Words

Last night, I had a hard time sleeping because of the smell of our newly painted ceiling (I had to sleep with all the windows AND door open) and my body clock is still wonky from the very irregular sleeping schedule I had during the sembreak.

I decided to make a list of words I enjoy saying outloud because they sound interesting. May English, Tagalog at Español. Hahaha.

Here goes:
  1. Spontaneity
  2. Redundancy (Your redundancy is very redundant.)
  3. Awesome
  4. Sovereignty
  5. Kamuning (Kamuning! Kamuning!)
  7. Innovative (Try this: inNOvative)
  8. Benq (benq! benq! warf! warf!)
  9. Poke! (English ito ha!)
  10. Chicos (Oi! Hay muchos chicos!!)
  11. ChicHas
  12. Mujer
  13. Ole!
  14. Nakakapagpabagabag! (Sabihin mo ng mabilis at paulit-ulit)
  15. O' Brien
  16. Gua gua (Tunog ng aso sa Espanñol)
  17. Blagag! (Pagkatapos ng isang Hug Attack!)
  18. Emparedado (sandwich)
  19. Astig

What I Want

I want an orange Zippo lighter to satisfy the pyromaniac in me. I haven't burned anything for a long time.

I want my paper to be done tomorrow so I could relax on Sunday and not worry about anything except my exams.

I want a weekend/weekday getaway. In fact, I am willing to be absent on a Monday or Thursday and miss one class. I really want to go out of town. I am tempted to go to Cubao and ride a random bus to some province. Spontaneity!

I want a full body massage. Lately, I have been really tired without doing a lot of physical activity. I feel that I have been doing push-ups all day.

I want an all-expense paid shopping spree. Divisoria. Oh I miss your dirty streets. The haggling people and wonderful cheap clothes.

I want to ace all of my exams. Kasi ganun ako minsan. Minsan lang.

I want my own portable photocopying machine.  I think I am broke because of all the photocopying that I have been doing.

I want lots of hugs. No one has given me a good old hug since... today. I am a Hug Monster. See me go Hug! Rawr!

childhood pictures. nge!!!

Instead of doing my homework or something more productive, I suddenly became OC about my yahoo inbox. I decided to open all 400+ messages and delete/sort to an appropriate folder.

While going through the mail, I saw some old multiply alerts. One of which contains an album of our childhood made by my little sister.

There are two pictures of me wearing my dad's clothes (fresh from the office), another pic with the brother and sister long ago in Ayala Park and me biking wearing a terno-pambahay with head band. I think it runs in our family. Wait, let me correct that. Camwhoring runs in our family.

Pictures of us, young, innocent and chubby.

The Name Game

I have always been proud of my name. I would even correct people who would mispronounce Antoinette (it should be an-twa-net, not an-toy-net). I also enjoy sharing the story of how I was named (Antoinette -derived from my father's Antonio that why Carl got Anthony, Isabelle -from the actress Isabelle Adjani whom my father read about her accident on the day my birth).

Out of boredom and curiosity, I googled the meaning of my two names. Here are results:
  • Isabelle
    • Origin: French
    • Meaning: Consecrated to God
  • Antoinette
    • Origin: French
    • Meaning: praiseworthy, flourishing, beyond praise (usually associated with French queen Marie Antoinette)
Then I found out that Isabelle "is also a is a popular generic theorem proving environment developed at Cambridge University and TU Munich". Click here to know more about it.

It turns out I share the same names with a Brazilian princess of the Bragança Dynasty and  a  member of  the Netherlands  nobility.

Talaga nga naman! Praiseworthy daw at consecrated to God. Of royalty and nobility pa.Ang galing talaga ni Papa gumawa ng pangalan.

sa gabi siya'y bonggang-bongga

For the past two years as a college student in Lyceum, I haven't had a "normal" sembreak. Normal in a sense that I haven't traveled out of town just to enjoy three weeks of being batugan. Where did the sembreak go?

For the past two weeks, I have been taking dance classes and rehearsing with Neonescas for a dance showcase at Baguio at the end of the month. That is why I avoid to go up and down here in our house (tulad na lang na hindi ko pagkain ng cake dahil ang sarap na ng upo ko). And this extra activity of mine worries my mother dearest because she thinks that my immune system will give up on me anytime. She thinks I'm doing too many things (Aladdin, school, org and now, dance).

I don't want to stop this. I love the feeling of my body aching because of dancing (and the only way to get rid of the pain is by dancing more), and the fact of going to Baguio because of doing something I love.

Dancing has been a frustration. As kid, my mom made me take ballet classes because she dreamed of having a ballerina in the family. But I would stop and change ballet schools every now and then. I will never declare that I am a great dancer. Eng?

---------------------------------------------

The plan of me being kidnapped to be drowned with ukay-ukay stores in Baguio was canceled. First, there was the great cough episode of mine. Then Paeng came who decided to target the northern Luzon. Siyempre, ang mga magulang di na pumayag. I wanted to cry when I had to face the reality that Baguio moment will not happen. This would have been a Jod-Isab moment. The one we would savor before we face a great change.

Sayang talaga.

---------------------------------------------

I am greatful for having Kuya Santi in my life. I love him for a lot of things. For being there during the break-up episode#1 of my life and for moving on after. I was hurt seeing him hurt because of what-ifs, I-should-haves and the fact that he is friends with the two people involved.
But we both agreed (and somewhat promised) that we don't want something like that to happen again ever. Hee!

Kuya Santi, my fellow aquarian. I love you so much.

Tayo na at mag pok pok.... pok.
